Hi! My name is Blake Lawrence.  I am in second grade at DCS.
This summer, I went with my family to Alaska. It was an amazing experience!  I learned a lot while I was there, and I got do do some really fun things! I learned about the history of Alaska, how the U.S. purchased it from Russia.  I saw the original newspaper from when the star was added to the U.S. flag!  I visited one of the original homestead schools.  There were only 15 children, grades k-12, all in the same room!
We saw a lot of moose!  I was excited to get my picture made with a wild moose!
The best part of my trip was fishing with my grandpa!  I caught a 15 pound king salmon, and an 18 pound halibut!   I will never forget that trip!  I had a great summer, now its back to school!
