During our 10:30 Book Bag hour we have started the discussion of how to incorporate music into the curriculum. One easy way is to choose a composer and listen to their music for a couple of months. If you wanted to go more in depth you could write names of the pieces they composed and attach their photo to a journaling page about them. We shared some examples of books to use as well as a variety of journaling pages.

 

Another idea is to learn about the instruments themselves by listening and reading Peter and the Wolf. It would be fantastic if the children could see the actual instruments - perhaps a visit to the music store?

 

We haven't talked about music lessons yet but plan to spend another week exploring music and the importance it has in our children's education.
